Well, it took a while due to the track not rolling in as expected but we got it in and the crowd seemed pleased with the results. The mini sprints joined the regular racing program tonight and we all enjoyed them and they put on a great show for the crowd tonight! Jordan Mattson (19x) and Ken Caskey (00) won each of the heat races out of the back rows. Caskey nipped a very fast D.J Snyder (17) at the line to win the first heat. The 19x won heat number two virtually uncontested.
The mini sprints line up to start the feature based on points averages. This being said, Mattson started 3 rows up from the back on the inside, Hodges shared the second to last row with SLIDE JOB RACING'S good friend Randy Smith. And Slide Job Racing's own Ken Caskey started the "A" Feature in the back row by himself. At the drop of the green flag the 19x rocketed to the front of the field and looked as if he had this race in the bag. Following the 19x were the 74x of Josh Hodges, the 16 of Randy Smith and in fourth the 00 of Ken Caskey. It looked as if this was going to be a green to checkered race with the order staying as it was the whole race. The 4 leaders got into lapped traffic on laps 11 and 12, this is when things started getting interesting. The lapped cars really bunched up the leaders causing a traffic jam in turns one and two. A lapped car got spun around and gathered up the 16 car causing him to flip and bring out the red and bunching the field back up.. ( Randy was unharmed ) This put the 74x and the 00 on the bumper of the leader. Going into turn one on the restart Hodges jumped ahead of Mattson and looked to have it won before #00 took control of the lead with six laps left in the race and took home the win. Congrats to Jerry Higgenbotham #7H on winning the $200 Dash For Cash! Thank you for your interest in SLIDE JOB RACING! check back soon for more exciting news! |
